1. On May 23, US time, Consul-General Moon Duk-ho to Seattle, the US, and Director Pat Kohler of the Washington State Department of Licensing signed the revised Arrangement between the Republic of Korea and the US state of Washington on the Mutual Recognition of Driver’s Licenses, which calls for its extension for another five years. The extended agreement will allow ROK nationals and citizens from Washington State residing in each other’s countries to enjoy for another five years administrative convenience regarding driver’s licenses.

2. Going forward, the ROK government will actively seek agreements on the mutual recognition of driver’s licenses with other countries with many Korean residents as well as their extensions in continued efforts to resolve challenges and promote convenience of overseas Koreans.
